The Garden’s founder, Ruth Bancroft, lived to be 109 and was a pioneer in drought-tolerant gardening. Open to the public year-round, the Garden showcases fabulous blooms during every season and highlights plant structure and texture in robust plantings. There are tables for lunching. Fees: Senior $8, under 65: $10, U C Bot Garden members are free with their card or digital card. Accessibility: The Garden is handicapped accessible, but the pathways are not paved. Wheelchairs with durable tires are available for our visitors use on a first-come first-served basis. There is handicapped accessible parking and restrooms. We also have assisted hearing devices that visitors may use during docent tours if needed.
